We're looking for someone to run all our marketing activity for our server monitoring product, Server Density.
Our target audience is individual technical developers, engineers and sysadmins. This means coming up with unique and fun ways to inform them about Server Density without appearing like marketing. For the past year we've been giving out USB lego men but now we need some new ideas! This is what you'll be spending most of your time doing.
For the rest of your time, you'll run our more traditional marketing. This ranges from search engine marketing with Google AdWords to arranging speaking slots at conferences for our engineers. You'll make sure this runs smoothly and generates good results. You'll also find new areas to spend our marketing budget in.
You don't need to be an engineer but our product is quite technical so you will need to be comfortable learning how things work. However, you will be supported by a technical team to help you learn and field any questions from customers you speak to.
This may not necessarily be computing and tech; it could be photography, foreign language, music or anything else. The key is you're able to get deeply involved and passionate about something. This is a trait which allows you to focus on learning something then enthusiastically tell other people about it!
Able to talk to to anyone about anything, in particular to people who might be socially awkward (e.g. the stereotypical computer programmer).
Able to steal an existing idea and adapt it to our own needs or come up with completely new ideas that would appeal to our sysadmin/developer audience.
You will want to measure everything that we do to see if it's working or not.
Running our existing traditional marketing such as AdWords, Retargeting, SEO and keeping on top of logistics like ordering goodies and shipping them out to conferences.
We are looking for someone to work in our London office with our existing team.
